Michael Thonet
Founder of Thonet
Born in Boppard in 1796, Michael Thonet was a master carpenter, founder of the Thonet brothers bentwood furniture factory and is considered a pioneer in furniture design and production. Thonet consistently developed bentwood technology further and created chairs such as the Coffee House Chair 214, the most produced seating furniture in the world.
