When the weather outside gets better, the garden or balcony invites you to relax outside. Then you make it comfortable with friends and families to eat together, barbecue and spend time. To experience all this comfortably outside, you need the right seating and table.

Which tables are available?

In the outdoor area, you will find three fundamentally different tables, all of which have different uses. What all three have in common is that they can be used outside and are weatherproof. For outdoor furniture, this is the most important factor. Weatherproofing and durability are what make outdoor tables.

The classic among them is the outdoor dining table. Dining tables come in many varieties and sizes and can be perfectly selected for the size needed. Whether you have four, six or more people, you can accommodate everyone with the right table. Many tables have special features, such as an extendable table top, or a folding function. Extendable table tops are especially handy if you don't normally want the table to take up so much space. If necessary, it can then be enlarged and adapted to the number of people.

Another classic among outdoor tables is the bistro table. This one is found rather less in private homes, but all the more in cafes and restaurants. The bistro table is a small table, with a round or square table top and the characteristic cross base. It usually seats no more than four people. The bistro table is also available as a standing table. This variant is particularly suitable for home, who wants to create an area away from the dining table, where drinks and food can be placed. Bar tables are very typical for snack bars. For home, this table is good to create a separate area for smokers and offer his company different places to stay.

An often forgotten table is the side table. This table is perfect for outdoor lounge chairs and sofas. So you can comfortably put drinks, books and other things. Side tables also do well as a flower stool or table for decorations. But also next to the dining table, a side table is a practical addition. There you can put food and drinks that do not fit on the dining table or are not needed there all the time.

A wide choice of materials

When choosing the right products, in addition to the design, the material is also important. Tables can be found in a variety of different materials. If you want to vary your table a little, you can choose a table top to suit your taste.

Glass table tops can be found in a wide variance of colors. Whether clear, black or colorful, glass tops offer a great way to customize his table color. A classic material for outdoor tables.

Wood is a natural material that can be brought into many forms and spreads a rustic flair. Wood can also be left natural, or individually painted and finished. Wood furniture is very sturdy and durable, which makes it perfect as outdoor furniture.

Another popular material is aluminum. This material does not corrode, so rust does not occur with aluminum. Tables made of aluminum are light in weight, so they can be moved around flexibly. Aluminum is also well suited for beaches, as even salt water is not a problem for this material. The alternative made of steel, on the other hand, is heavier, but more resistant in windy weather. Stiff breezes can hardly knock over steel tables, so they are especially good if the tables can not be protected from the wind.

Plastic tables come in a very wide range of designs and colors. Plastic is a very durable material that does not mind rain and wind. Since plastic is malleable, it is possible to implement a variety of designs. Plastic tables are easy to clean and are extremely low maintenance.

If you want to have a little beach feeling, you can make do with tables made of artificial wicker. Synthetic wicker is made of synthetic fibers and is extremely easy to clean. Water is hardly absorbed and dries off quickly, making it practical and durable for outdoor use. With the matching chairs, this creates great seating areas that beautify the outdoor space.

Proper storage and care

Storage and care are mainly material-dependent, but there are some universal handles that can be applied. If possible, outdoor furniture should be placed under a roof. This will protect it from rain and strong winds. In the long term, you can prevent weathering and damage due to weather conditions. Those who do not have a roof for their furniture should dry it after rain. Alternatively, tables and chairs can be covered with a tarpaulin, especially in rainy periods this is useful. In winter, furniture should not be left outside if possible. Snow, frost and icy wind are harmful to most materials in the long run. To keep the outdoor tables as long as possible and look good, it is important to protect them from extreme weather, this is especially true in winter. However, sun rays and high heat can also damage some materials in the long run. They can warp or have their colors fade. To adequately protect furniture in the summer, it should be at least temporarily in the shade. Parasols, awnings or trees can then provide sufficient shade.

Most outdoor tables are not particularly demanding in terms of maintenance. Wood can simply be wiped down or cleaned with a brush. Every now and then, wooden furniture should be treated with wood care. Those who have tables made of aluminum or stainless steel can also easily clean them with a cloth and a little soap. A little polish can also easily restore the natural shine. Furniture made of plastic hardly needs any care. With a little water and a cloth, dirt can also be easily dissolved here. However, plastic furniture should be protected from too much sunlight, because colors can fade in the sun in the long run. Artificial wickerwork can also be simply wiped or cleaned with a soft brush. However, you should avoid using too hard brushes, as these can roughen the material and make it brittle. As a rule, outdoor furniture requires very little and light care, which makes it uncomplicated and worthwhile.
