The idea behind the name for the beanbag, which was at the beginning of the product range, is perhaps that you can relax on the "fat, soft boy". And, in fact, this is perfectly attached to the body, no matter whether you lie or sit on it. Of course, it is not a human being, but a robust seat filled with fine globules. 

Start of a success story

Fatboy is at the same time the name of the design forge from the Netherlands, which fills the gaps with innovative and funky design ideas - into which sometimes just a fatboy fits :-) Founded in 2002, the company initially produced beanbags only. This was not really new, but the new interpretation made a fatboy out of the snug fit. The concept was completely reworked and the Finnish designer Jukka Setälä created a new design concept. In addition to the trendy colors, the oversized label established itself as an important staple. Thus, beyond the name of the manufacturer, the brand became a furniture statics symbol.

Incomparable seating comfort

The comfort of a Fatboy beanbag can hardly be compared to that of conventional beanbags. Fatboy beanbags remain dimensionally stable and the filling is not "displaced" when sitting down. This not only ensures sitting comfort, but also provides sufficient support in any sitting position. The filling made of high-quality polystyrene beads keeps the beanbag in top shape at all times. Outdoor

However, the Fatboys conquering campaign was not limited to the living and children's rooms of our time. Outdoor varieties conquered the parks, coffees, bars and beaches of the world soon. The fatboy is much bigger than the classic beanbag, just richer and therefore more comfortable. But even this size is not the end of the scale, as evidenced by the buggle-up concept. This beanbag is once again larger and is equipped with two straps to a comfortable chair or even a lounge sofa for up to two people. Finally, the original brothers and sisters were added to the original and supplemented the product range to today's product range. What began with oversized beanbags now bears further fruit in the modern furniture design.

Product variety

An example of this is CO9. This is an oversized rabbit of nearly 2 meters in size. It serves as seating furniture, lying surface or crazy design. It was designed by the Dutch designer Florentijn Hofman, who gained worldwide fame through his gigantic yellow rubber ducks. This original Fatboy product range is flanked today by lamps whose design allows the user to contribute his creativity and other design elements of the interior design. Stools, small tables, seat cushions, picnic blankets, carpets, hanging mats and even a collection of dog cushions adorn the design and the name Fatboy. They all combine the unusual design and the practical benefits of Fatboy.
