Elegant at the bar with the Thonet 118 H bar stool
Minimalist and elegant: the chair with the seat height of 75 centimeters is reminiscent of the company founder Michael Thonet, who designed wooden chairs with and without wickerwork as early as the mid-19th century. The wooden chair made of beech has rounded legs on the outside, on the inside they are straight, so the legs repeat the intentional shape, they are as horseshoe-shaped as the seat. The seat is made of wickerwork. The design is by Sebastian Herkner, who also designed the THONET 118 furniture.
The designer Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner (born 1981) studied product design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Offenbach am Main. During his studies, the designer was already interested in new technologies and traditional craftsmanship. Since 2006 he has his own design studio in Offenbach and designs products for internationally renowned companies such as THONET. His furniture has already won several awards.
