A "happy bin" is the Vitra Happy Bin by designer Michel Charlot. And the environment in which the Happy Bin is set up can also be considered happy. The office accessories by Charlot transport an organic design language into the office world. The Happy Bin is inspired by a sculpture by the artist Hans Arp. The somewhat irregular shape of the wastepaper baskets seems to have grown naturally. The design takes into account the material properties and industrial production methods. The bin is made of robust plastic; the material does not contain any harmful softeners. The Happy Bin is available in the two sizes "Small" and "Large" and in different colors, classic colors like Basic Dark, White, Sky Grey but also gaudy tones like Yellow and Poppy Red. Michel Charlot, the Swiss designer

Michel Charlot, born 1984, studied at ECAL/University of Art and Design in Lausanne. He then worked for the design office Jasper Morrison ltd. Since 2011 he has been running his own design studio in Basel. Charlot was awarded the "Swiss Design Award" for industrial products and has designed exhibitions in the Benelux and the USA. Since 2013 Charlot has also been a lecturer in industrial design in Lausanne and Tokyo.
