Aluminium Chairs EA 101-104

The aluminum chairs EA 101, 103 and 104 are ideal for use at the dining table, as they are narrower, lighter and higher than other aluminum chairs. It is hard to believe that the chairs were designed by Charles & Ray Eames as early as 1958. Today, there is a wide range of classic or bright colors to suit any dining room environment. The three models each have different qualities, EA 101 stands fixed without armrests, as does the EA 103, which unlike the 101 is equipped with armrests. EA 104 is a swivel chair with armrests. According to the principle of the seat shell, fabric or leather panels are stretched between two aluminum side parts. Due to the taut but resilient tension, the chair adapts to the body and not vice versa. The result is a pleasant seating comfort that one would not want to miss.

Features

The chairs belong to the Eames Aluminium Group by Charles & Ray Eames and score points in terms of comfort with their medium-high backrest and table-oriented seating position. The seat is available in mesh fabric or with high-frequency welded upholstery units. The material consists of Hopsak, a hard-wearing canvas-bound flat fabric, beautiful leather or even leather premium. The side profiles, the clamping brackets, the armrests and the 4-star base are made of die-cast aluminium, chrome-plated, polished or powder-coated in deep black. While the mesh fabric is only available in classic black (Nero) or dark grey, the Hopsak version offers an additional 35 colors, such as yellow, lime green, meadow green, ivory, forest or mint. Even in the leather version, pop red is available in addition to the classic colors white, gray, brown and black. Leather Premium also offers other colors, including smoke blue, jade and khaki.

Charles & Ray Eames

The Aluminium Chairs are among the most important designs of the 20th century. The designers Charles and Ray Eames first designed the chair in 1958 for the private home of an art collector. In the meantime, the chairs are produced by the manufacturer Vitra and exported to Europe and the Middle East.
