Vitra Lampe de Bureau - the lamp for the office and more
The Lampe de Bureau keeps what the name promises. The small table lamp can of course find its place not only in the office, but also in the home office. The design of the beautiful table lamps was created in 1930 by Jean Prouvé to bring light into the functional student rooms at the Cité Universitaire in Nancy. The lamps are made of folded sheet steel and cast a beam of light onto the table surface. The powder-coated sheet steel is available in red (japanese red), mint and deep black in three different colors including the bulb, the power cable is made of high quality textile. The lamps consume with A++ little energy, the light color is with 2700 Kelvin pleasantly warm white.
The designer Jean Prouvé (1900-1983)
Jean Prouvé was probably one of the first industrial designers. As an unskilled architect, he opened his own workshop in 1924, where he produced small accessories, furniture and living containers made of steel and wood. He always observed the laws of statics for small parts as well as for large constructions. Prouvé showed the industrial character of his furniture, which appears dynamic rather than elegant. In 1950 he received the highest possible award in France as "Knight of the Legion of Honor". His articles have a firm place in the history of design. The manufacturer Vitra brings many beautiful products of the self-proclaimed designer on the market, armchairs, chairs and tables, which you can also find in the pro office store.
