Mechanism and Backrest Bracket
Made of powder-coated aluminium in Deep Black (RAL 9005) or Soft Grey (RAL 7047).
Equipped with a synchronized motion mechanism, individually adjustable backrest counterpressure, and lockable in the upright position.
Seat height continuously adjustable via gas spring.
Frame, Seat, and Backrest
Flexible frame and armrests made of polyamide, available in Deep Black or Soft Grey.
Seat and backrest form a single unit with a freely tensioned knitted cover TrioKnit or mesh cover FleeceNet.
Base
Five-star base made of polished die-cast aluminium or plastic in Deep Black or Soft Grey.

Fabric: FleeceNet 53% polyester, 46% polyamide, 1% spandex
FleeceNet is a high-quality technical mesh fabric made of polyester and polyamide, featuring a woven-in chenille yarn that adds a unique texture.
Its open structure ensures breathability and contributes to a pleasant seating climate.
The blend of different yarns allows for fresh, modern colour combinations.
FleeceNet is available in four attractive colour options.
Fabric: TrioKnit 95% polyester, 4% spandex
TrioKnit is a self-supporting, durable knitted fabric with a subtle sheen.
Its robust nature and slightly technical appearance make it ideal for modern office environments.
Thanks to its muted colour palette, TrioKnit combines well with a variety of materials.
The fabric is available in six colours.

Vitra Physix Office Swivel Chair – The Concept
The fundamental idea was to create a continuous seat shell using a textile stretched between two side beams. This concept forms the basis of the Physix design. As the latest in a line of iconic chairs, it pushes the typology further.
Dynamics
Alberto Meda has composed a dynamic seating experience by combining three key elements using the latest in production and material technologies: an elastic cover, a stabilising mechanism, and a flexible frame. These components form the innovative construction of Physix. The interaction between rigid and flexible elements redefines the potential of dynamic sitting.
Variants
The cover is available in 6 FleeceNet colours and 5 TrioKnit colours. The base comes in various aluminium or plastic finishes. Suitable castors are available for both hard and soft flooring.
Alberto Meda
Born in 1945 in Tremezzina, Italy, north of Milan. He studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic in Milan and worked in the 1970s as a director for Kartell. As a freelance designer, he collaborated with renowned companies such as Alfa Romeo, Luceplan, Philips, Olivetti, Legrand, and many more. In the 1980s, Meda taught industrial technology at the Domus Academy in Milan. In 1995, the Design Laboratory Bremerhaven appointed him to the board. His collaboration with Vitra began in 1994. Since 2003, he has taught at IUAV Venice and given lectures in Stockholm, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, and Istanbul. His designs enrich the successful Office Collection.
