Relaxation at last: the Grand Repos by Vitra brings calm into the home. Designer Antonio Citterio gave this elegant seating generous upholstery, armrests and a high back. The synchronised mechanism is concealed within the upholstery; it allows the chair to be moved from a sitting to a resting position. The chair can be locked in place at any point. The positions are achieved by a mechanism that adjusts to the user's weight. The Repos and the Grand Repos are available in two seat heights, with a matching Ottoman (footstool) available as well. The accompanying neck cushion is filled with feathers.
Comfortable features of the Repos
The Repos and the Grand Repos by Vitra are designed with a four-star base, available in polished aluminium or powder-coated black. Seat heights can be chosen between 400 mm and 450 mm. The choice of cover material and colour gives your Repos an individual character. Volo is an expressive fabric containing wool, available in 17 colours. According to the manufacturer, Cosy 2 and Credo also consist predominantly of new wool, with a lively melange yarn or in plain colours. Dumet is a cotton blend available in twenty colour versions. The leather chairs with contrast stitching come in the classic colours snow, asphalt, sand, nero and chocolate.
Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio, born in 1950, opened his own design studio as early as 1972, three years before completing his architecture studies in Milan. Between 1987 and 1996 he worked as an architect with Terry Dwan and received the Compasso d'Oro design award, among others. In 2000 Citterio founded an interdisciplinary studio for architecture and interior design together with Patricia Viel. The studio "Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel" works internationally for clients such as Vitra. FAQs
According to the manufacturer, the seat and back unit are made of the polyurethane foam "V-Foam".
High-quality fabric or leather covers are available for the Grand Repos. Since a product update in 2022, the covers can be removed, which makes cleaning or replacement easier. For regular care, it is recommended to vacuum carefully with an upholstery nozzle and remove stains with cleaning agents suitable for the respective cover.
