Fritz Hansen Egg™ Re-Wool

Fritz Hansen's famous "egg" (Egg) is now available with recycled wool. The Egg™ Re-Wool is a timeless classic, designed by Arne Jacobsen. The timeless design dates back to 1958, a lounge chair for the royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, giving hotel guests some privacy. The Re-Wool upholstery fabric is made of 45 percent recycled wool. The textile design is by Margrethe Odgaard, who works for the Danish company Kvadrat. The fabric of Re-Wool is made partly from the remnants of English spinning mills and from the production of Kvadrat. Environmentally friendly with a poetic touch that is rich in contrast, deep in color and vibrant, Odgaard says. 21 Re-wool fabrics are available to choose from. The Re-Wool Chairs feature 100,000 Martindale - a wear value that far exceeds the standard of private, professional and public use. This also makes the Chair durable and sustainable.

The Egg™ Re-Wool carries the EU's The Flower eco-label. The frame is a four-star aluminum base, and the column tube is satin polished. An optional upholstered footstool is available, exactly matching the chair's design.
