"Vitra Plate Dining Table by Jasper Morrison"
Design Jasper Morrison, 2018
Vitra Plate Dining Table
The Vitra Plate Dining Table by Jasper Morrison from 2018 corresponds to the designer's "supernormal" approach. The Plate Dining Table has well-balanced proportions and restrained curves and can be combined with classic and modern chairs in an attractive way. The Vitra dining table is available in a wide range of materials, so Jasper Morrison's table has the right design for every interior. The tabletop is available in elegant finishes, as medium density fibreboard (MDF) powder-coated in white, in solid oak or American walnut oiled, brushed and waxed Carrara marble. The base frame is made of die-cast aluminium and powder-coated trusses in white or chocolate. Other configurations of the tables are possible upon request.
Jasper Morrison - minimalist design
Morrison's (1959*) design is based on the philosophy of the best function, which leads to a different kind of beauty than the one directly aimed at. The designer has shaped contemporary minimalism through the unobtrusive elegance of his products. Morrison is one of the most successful modern industrial designers, who coined the term "supernormal" together with the designer Naoto Fukasawa. For the two designers, good design means formally unobtrusive and useful. Together with the manufacturer Vitra, Morrison has developed several pieces of furniture, including the Vitra HAL chairs, which also match the Plate Dining Table and are also available in the pro office shop. Articles by Jasper Morrison can be found in the collections of internationally important museums, such as the MoMA in New York.
