In combination with the S 40 chairs by Mart Stam, the S 1040 garden table forms a stylish concept for outdoor use. The material of the tables and chairs is durable and weatherproof. Their wood comes from the mulberry family in Africa and is certified by the independent non-profit organization Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for responsible forest management. This wood is called Iroko or African Teak, it is characterized by high density and weather resistance. Similar to teak wood, Iroko has an even and smooth surface. For the S 1040 tables and S 40 chairs, the slats have been oiled. The frame is made of tubular steel.
