The S 43 comes from the inventor of tubular steel furniture himself. At least, Mart Stam was awarded the artistic copyright to the furniture with bent steel. The S 43 is one of the first of this revolutionary furniture and has been produced by manufacturer Thonet since the 1920s. In the meantime, the S 43 has become one of Thonet's classics. The timeless shape and the springy tubular steel frame combined with molded plywood inspire designers again and again.
