For the “Pure Materials” THONET exclusively uses materials that guarantee a careful handling of nature: The solid wood parts are untreated and only oiled, making the wood grain tangible. We use striking, scarred leather that is tanned in an environmentally friendly way and especially durable. The robust seams guarantee durability. And the tubular steel base frames are nickel plated rather than chromeplated. Over the course of time a natural patina – an intentional effect – develops on the surface.
