"THONET side table B97"
Design: Thonet Design Team
The modern side table: Thonet B 97
Thonet furniture fits in everywhere where people meet - at home, in offices and waiting areas or in a café. The B 97 stands for modern living and working. What makes this classic so special is that it was designed by the Thonet design team in 1933. In this case, Thonet is both manufacturer and designer. The B 97 is reminiscent of the B 9 coffee tables by Bauhaus designer Marcel Breuer. The Design Team has modified the design to add a practical advantage to the table - the open side allows the tables to be pushed over the edge of the armchair or the edge of the bed. Several tables can be placed one inside the other to save space. As a set, the B 97 is elegant and flexible:
The tubular steel classic - the elegant set tables B 97
The classic dimensions with a width of 46 centimeters, a height of 52 centimeters and a depth of 47 centimeters can be supplemented by other sizes to create a table set or set table that matches any stool or armchair. This piece of furniture can be manufactured individually, configure it yourself according to your personal taste! In addition to the steel base frame, different materials are available for table surfaces, natural beech, stained wood or chrome. In addition to white and black, there is also a choice of modern colors.
The company Thonet
Michael Thonet (1796-1871) founded the Thonet GmbH in 1819, which still exists today. After 1830, the carpenter experimented with bentwood in his workshop. In 1859 he developed the famous Viennese coffee house chair, chair no. 14. Chairs made of bentwood could be produced in series and were suitable for shipping, which, in addition to the good design, contributed to the great success of the Thonet company. Later, the family-run company from Frankenberg produced the tubular steel furniture of the Bauhaus artists and thus continued the success of the bentwood furniture.
