The S 661, designed by Günter Eberle in the 1950s, is a versatile chair that is being reissued in a variety of finishes. The seat shell is made of shaped wood and exudes the natural beauty of the material. It is available in walnut, oak, beech or stained wood. The tubular steel frame can be chrome or powder coated, giving the chair a modern look. Although the S 661 is designed in a minimalist way with minimal use of materials, the soft curves and grained wood surface make it feel cozy and present in the room. The clean lines and precise contours are typical of the Thonet aesthetic.
