The Thonet S 285-0 desk contemporary history in tubular steel.

The delicate but sturdy desk can become your companion for life, as it adapts to any interior and moves easily: from home office to office or vice versa. The architect Marcel Breuer designed the furniture during his Bauhaus period. The desk, based on the design from 1935, belongs to the "New Objectivity" art movement: art meets function and technology.

As a trained carpenter, the designer knew exactly what was important. The table top made of lacquered or stained wood fits so well into the frame made of tubular steel that it seems to float in it. Thanks to the different stains, the wood can shine from white to black; those who prefer wood opt for lacquered ash.

If you need storage space for documents instead of a purist table, the Thonet tables S 285-1, S 285-2 or S 285-5, which also have a tubular steel frame, are more suitable.
