The Backrest Principle

The fm asiento's backrest is an innovative solution for enhanced seating comfort and optimal freedom of movement while sitting. The principle defines three elastic support elements with different spring forces from the lumbar area through the back torso to the shoulders. This allows for optimal back support in any sitting position.

The fm asiento doesn’t follow the standard – it's tailored. The 3D knitted membrane is precisely and customarily crafted onto the backrest and seat. The membrane in various back zones is designed to support the flexible functions of the backrest optimally. It has higher tension in the lumbar area than in the shoulder area and, combined with the backrest construction, creates a perfect symbiosis for comfortable sitting. Additionally, the 3D knitted membrane contributes to sustainability. The backrest and seat cushion are precisely crafted and produced in Germany, avoiding waste and excess material by using only the necessary yarn.

3D Knitted Membrane Variants

Transparent: In the transparent version, the backrest construction is slightly visible through the membrane. The knitted membrane is airy and light but provides optimal support with different tension in the back areas.

Comfort: In the production of the comfort variant, more yarn material is used. This renders the back opaque and provides even higher comfort with a softer feel.

Removable Seat Cover

The seat cover isn't glued or stapled; it can be easily removed and machine washed.
