Bauhaus Design
Founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius, the Bauhaus still stands today for its great influence on industrial and art design. The Bauhaus idea of combining art and architecture in this way is manifested in countless designs and drafts of the most diverse products, from small objects of daily use to fascinating building architecture.
Christian Dell
One of the "Bauhaus masters" was the silversmith and designer Christian Dell. Born in Offenbach in 1893, Dell worked as a master of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus Weimar from 1922 to 1925. During this time, Dell designed light models for industrial production. At the beginning of the 1930s, work began for the company "Gebr. Kaiser & Co." in Neheim-Hüsten. To this day, these models are known as Kaiser-idell - a combination of the company name with the name of the designer.
