An egg or a swan? Classic Fritz Hansen chairs
The Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen still produces the legendary lounge chairs, which the designer Arne Jacobsen created for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in the late 1950s. Curved and flowing forms are the trademarks of these armchairs, which offered a successful contrast to the hotel building with its straight-lined architecture. The Fritz Hansen armchairs with sturdy cold foam shells were a revolution in design and aimed to give a feeling of security even in heavily frequented environments. This is why both the "Egg" (the Egg™ Chair) and the "Swan" (Swan™ Chair) are particularly suitable for use in public buildings, in the lounge or waiting area. In the private living area, too, the curved Fritz Hansen chairs enrich the quality of living with comfortable seating characteristics.
Quiet? Modern Fritz Hansen chairs
The Ro™ is a versatile and comfortable 1½ seat, in which you can relax or work in different positions. The name says it all: Ro means calm in Danish and describes the character of this armchair with only two letters. This Fritz Hansen armchair was designed by Jaime Hayon. Born in Madrid in 1974, the designer was initially a graffiti artist, later studied industrial design and became chief designer at the Italian Academy of Design and Communication. This was followed by interior designs and installations. Jaime Hayon now has his own design studio and is one of the most important contemporary creative artists.
