This table is a wooden table that is exemplary for Prouvé's designs. The constructive details reveal the necessity of force and statics. The EM Table is a later design that has metal legs instead of wooden legs. The SAM Bois wooden table was designed with wooden legs because metal was a scarce commodity in wartime.

The solid and oiled wood gives the Solvay a high-quality look, a homely expression. The technical coolness of the design is relativized.
