The Coffee Table by Vitra (Isamu Noguchi, 1944): Noguchi himself described Coffee Table as his best furniture design, no doubt because it is extremely reminiscent of his former sculptures of bronze and marble and implements the latter's biomorphic formal language unadulterated into a piece of sculptural furniture: on two identical wooden elements placed at right angle rests a heavy glass plate.
