"Vitra Nelson Bench"
Design: George Nelson, 1946
Clear lines
George Nelson created a bench that illustrates the architectonic background of the designer with clear and straight lines. The seat is made of natural wood, the frame of black ash wood. The bench is available in two lengths and also looks good as a storage table.
George Nelson was a designer and architect. As a design director, he was responsible for bringing design icons like Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard and Isamu Noguchi to Herman Miller. In 1957 he began working with Vitra. Many of his works are shining examples of the mid-century modern.
To date, the company provides many of his designs. You can find some of them here in the online shop.
