For the Vitra HAL chairs, Vitra uses recycled plastic from recyclable waste collections according to the manufacturer – predominantly from used packaging and industrial waste. The designer Jasper Morrison
Jasper Morrison is a British designer known above all for his minimalist and functional designs. He has designed a wide range of products, including furniture, household items, electronics and public transport.
Morrison studied at Kingston Polytechnic Design School and the Royal College of Art in London as well as at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. In 1986 he founded his own design studio. Since then he has worked for companies such as Vitra, Cappellini, Magis and Flos.
Morrison has received numerous prizes and awards. He is regarded as one of the most influential designers of his generation and has helped to re-establish design as a tool for solving tasks.

Jasper Morrison is a British designer best known for his minimalist and functional designs. He has designed a variety of products including furniture, household items, electronics and transportation systems.
Morrison studied at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London and began his career as a designer in the 1980s. Since then, he has worked for a variety of prestigious companies including Vitra, Cappellini, Magis and Flos.
Morrison has received a variety of awards and accolades, including the Design Plus Award and the Good Design Award. He is also a member of the Royal College of Art and the Royal Society of Arts.
Morrison has made a name for himself through his minimalist and functional designs and is considered one of the most influential designers of his generation. He places great emphasis on quality and sustainability in his work and has helped bring design back to being seen as a tool to solve problems and improve people's lives.
