Icons of aluminum
Without a doubt, the aluminum chairs are one of the most important furniture designs of the 20th century. In 1958 Charles and Ray Eames designed the aluminum chair for a private house in Columbus. The principle of the seat shell left the designer pair and stretched spring-tight leather and fabric panels between two aluminum side panels. The chair also adapts to the body without the need for elaborate upholstery and offers a high degree of comfort.
