Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec work together in their studio in Paris. The pulsating quarter is called Belleville and gives this beautiful chair its name. The Belleville chair is based on a French-classical bistro furniture and a special atmosphere in the quarter of the two designers.
Its exterior makes the Belleville Chair look familiar and natural. At the same time the Belleville has something mysterious and possibly irritating about it. At second glance, the design, material and production process become apparent.
The ingenious technical composition of two components, together with the frame structure and seat shell, makes the complete chair. The calligraphically drawn frame includes legs and backrest and accommodates the thin seat shell. This tapers from the wide seat to the narrow backrest.
This construction method creates new perspectives on the materiality. The seat shapes the identity of the Belleville Chair.
Combined with the Belleville Chair, the chairs can be used in bistros, galleries and home furnishings.
