A fresh, colorful look for a mid-century classic: 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the re-edition of the Wall Clocks by Vitra, while the original market launch was 75 years ago. To mark the occasion, Vitra is launching a limited edition of the Ball Clock. This edition comprises four color variants - Dawn, Sunrise, Sunset and Dusk - which reflect the different moods of the times of day with their gentle color gradients.
In 1947, the American designer George Nelson was commissioned to create a collection of watches. One of his first creations was the Ball Clock, which later became an icon of mid-century design. In the 35 years that followed, the team at George Nelson Associates designed over a hundred different clock models, including wall clocks, table clocks and built-in clocks. Vitra has been reissuing the classic Nelson clocks since 1999.
