The Swan – Swan™ Chair by Fritz Hansen

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the "Swan" for the newly built Royal Hotel in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. The chair complemented the lounge and waiting area of the hotel, where it formed a harmonious seating landscape together with the Egg™ Chair, also designed by Jacobsen.

Arne Jacobsen pursued his goal of integrating design and architecture in a new way and creating a relationship between the two. In 1958, the chair was a revolution—an innovative design without edges or straight lines, a lounge chair shaped entirely by curves.

Today, the Swan remains an ideal choice both for private interiors and as furniture in waiting areas.
