- the modern classics, as well as the newer products of the German manufactory. Here you will find the world famous designs by Eileen Gray from the 1920s and the unmistakable Nymphenburg wardrobe by Otto Blümel from the year 1908. At ClassiCon one has to say: "What really has quality, decides the time". We do not contradict.
ClassiCon furniture are collectors' items
It may not fit so well that a fairly young company has found an emphasis on the classic design furniture. Yet this is precisely one of the foundations - the reissue of partially forgotten but impressive design ideas. But it would be too short to reduce the company. Rather, the perfect symbiosis is the creation of venerable design classics and the development of new, individual furniture ideas.
The company was founded in 1990 by Stephan Fischer of Poturzyn. The former head of the Vereinigte Werkstätten in Munich not only brought the knowledge about the manufacture of high-quality design furniture into the company, but he was also able to take over numerous designs from well-known designers from the workshops into the new company. This cornerstone and the collaboration with new, promising talents, such as Konstantin Grcic, have created high-quality design furniture.
At ClassiCon, which is also the case for Classic Contemporary Design, the concept of the coexistence of classical and modern art is still held today. ClassiCon is now run by Oliver Holy, the great-grandson of Hugo Boss.
The fact that he is not interested in fashion, as he himself once said, does not detract from his sense of first-class, individual and high-quality furniture with potential.
Today, furniture is being manufactured that is looking for quality, design and individuality. However, one does not rely on mass, rather it is to create the outstanding piece of furniture, which still retains its value for the owner in 20 years. For this reason, one attaches just as much importance to an excellent production, as to a timeless but not unadorned design.
You can be inspired by the impulses of new, still unknown designers and let their ideas flow into its collection. However, a contradiction to the philosophy of producing classical design furniture is still not visible. Rather, old designs can be created alongside new ones and create something timeless, while at the same time you find designs by well-known renowned designers. Styles of Eileen Gray or, for some years, the forgotten designs of the Brazilian Rodrigues belong to the repertoire of ClassiCon.
To create values through originality of finished forms, designs and the functionality of individual furniture, that is what ClassiCon stands for.
