The lighting concept

The design is made up of several diamond-shaped cells and gives the impression of a sphere of light. The cells are shaped so that each one takes up the light and shields the lamp at a viewing angle of 45 degrees. Every individual cell of the Louis Poulsen Patera is lit. At angles of less than 45 degrees, the individual panels direct the light downwards. Some light is also directed upwards onto the ceiling.

Inspired by the Fibonacci sequence

The design follows a symmetry that also occurs in nature. It was his fascination with the Fibonacci sequence that designer Øivind Slaatto brought into the design. A similar pattern can be seen on pine cones, for example.

A modern eye-catcher

The construction resembles a modern interpretation of a chandelier and draws the eye, whether in living areas, galleries, corridors or other rooms. The form of the Louis Poulsen Patera comes from the design studio Slaatto Design.

The Louis Poulsen Patera is available in all three sizes with LED technology. Details of the energy efficiency class can be found in the product data.

Care instructions

Dust can be removed with a dry, soft cloth. For grease marks, use a wrung-out cloth with lukewarm water (< 50 °C) and a mild cleaning agent. Dust on the louvres can be removed through the openings with compressed air or a thin duster.
