Knoll International has always stood for timeless and elegant furniture. The American company was founded in 1938 by the German Hans Knoll. The production of furniture and a flair for design were already in his cradle. Hans Knoll's father, Walter Knoll, and his father were already furniture manufacturers themselves. Walter Knoll was one of the first to produce Bauhaus furniture in series and on an industrial scale. The name Knoll is inextricably linked with Bauhaus and its pioneers. Walter Knoll cultivated contacts with well-known Bauhaus designers such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer. When his son Hans Knoll founded the company, he had personally experienced many of the pioneers and also the Bauhaus.
Knoll Bauhaus Design at pro office
The manufacturer Knoll International offers a wide range of Bauhaus furniture in the pro office store. The designer and Bauhaus pioneer Marcel Breuer is represented three times in the Knoll edition in the pro office store. The Knoll Wassily armchair was designed in 1925, making the design almost 100 years old. The leather loops adapt individually to the body and offer a good fit for every type of physique. The Knoll International Laccio 1 and Laccio 2 coffee tables were also designed by Marcel Breuer. The two coffee tables are a perfect visual match for the Wassily armchair and were also designed for it. The cubic tables with tubular steel frames have a timeless design and still meet the requirements of modern furnishings today.
The Knoll Barcelona Chair and the matching Barcelona Stool form a comfortable seating unit. The chair, which actually deserves to be called an armchair, and the stool were designed by Bauhaus designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe between 1929 and 1931. The soft upholstery offers a comfortable seat, while the matching stool almost turns the chair into a lounger. The leather can be selected in different colors and brings a high-quality look to any room.
