The designer

Ron Arad was born in Tel Aviv in 1951. He lives in London and is internationally known for industrial design and architecture. The designer and architect studied in Jerusalem and London. In 1989 he founded Ron Arad Associates Ltd. with the Canadian architect Alison Brooks. With the Bookworm, presented in Milan in 1994 and manufactured by the company Kartell, the artist achieved his greatest success to date. The Bookworm is one of the modern classics. Ron Arad was professor of product design in Vienna between 1994 and 1997, and professor of furniture design and product design in London between 1997 and 2009.
