ClassiCon Bell Coffee Table

The name of the Classicon Bell Coffee Table says it all, the table was awarded the Red Dot design prize. The beautiful coffee table, also available as a side table Bell Side Table, was designed by designer Sebastian Herkner in 2012. The extravagant coffee tables or side tables each consist of a mouth-blown glass base of extraordinary color intensity, with a brass or steel top and a table top made of black burnished crystal glass. The glass provides a floating lightness in contrast to the heavy table top. Since each table is handcrafted, minor bubbles or slight unevenness are part of the individuality in the design.

The manufacturer ClassiCon

The manufacturer ClassiCon emerged from the traditional company Vereinigte Werkstätten München, which produced the products of famous designers of classical modernism. One of the most famous designers of the 1920-ies is Eileen Gray. Sole owner Oliver Holy has now been shaping the family business for about 20 years and vouches for compliance with ecological requirements, high-quality materials and the best processing techniques. ClassiCon produces furniture (chairs, armchairs, tables, sofas, shelves), lighting and accessories.

The designer Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner (*1981) studied product design at the University of Offenbach. He worked for Stella McCartney and founded his own studio in 2006. In addition to ClassiCon, the artist works for Rosenthal, Thonet and many other major companies more. In 2019, he was named "Designer of the Year." Herkner is always on the lookout for interesting materials and old craft techniques that he can awaken from their slumber.
