The pendant lamp Artemide Mercury

The Mercury family pendant lamp belongs to the Hydro collection, which includes, in addition to pendant lamps, ceiling lamps and wall lamps of the Mercury subcategory with fixed LEDs. Sospensione means suspension and soffitto means ceiling. With its futuristic yet organic design, the collection is one of Artemide's icons. The chrome-plated bodies of the lamps are reminiscent of pebbles, drops of water or the element mercury, the English name for Mercury. The bodies of the lamps are made of aluminum; reflective bodies with a metallic surface. The warm light has 2,700 Kelvin. The light source is LED. Since the light radiates upwards, it creates an extraordinary glow and almost magical indirect lighting. The strong character luminaires of 2011 fit the modern interior as well as in public spaces as a luminaire, jewelry and statement at the same time. The external dimmer completes the concept. The designer

Ross Lovegrove (*1958) is an English industrial designer. His design is inspired by structures and organic forms. The artist studied at the Polytechnic in Manchester. With a First Class BA in Industrial Design, he moved to the Royal College of Art in London, where he graduated with a Master's degree in Design in 1983. While still a student in the early 1980s, he worked as a designer for Frog Design on the Sony Walkman in Germany. Later he worked for Knoll International and other brands, developing new concepts for Louis Vuitton, Hermés and Dupont, together with Philippe Starck and Jean Nouvel. In 1990, he founded Studio X in Notting Hill, London. Lovegrove has won several international awards, and his designs can be found in design museums around the world.
